Sticky Guest Sessions in Session Management

Hello Experts,

 

we have a EP 7.31 an a lot of Guest-Sessions, which are marked as "Sticky Session" and call the application "/irj". I think they come from the Login or Logout Screen. They have all a time to get invalid, but when this point is arrived, the time will raise for 1 day. So ne never get invalid.

 

I try to implement this Note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/755947 but could not find the point, to configure the "dsmloader".

 

The timeout is set by default. So where could I also look or what is the reason for this behavior? We had the same problem with our EP 7.3. Have I to implement a service by my self, that kill all guest session or there other ways?

Search

No switch to https occurred so it is not secure to send a password

Hi Experts,

 

When we click on workitem it display error message as "No Switch to https occured so it is not secure to send a password".

 

Can you please advise why I get this message every afternoon? If I wait 20 minutes it seems to fix the issue.

Export Portal UME credentials to gateway

Hi,

 

We currently have our portal users in portal UME (AS Java), and are working on Fiori implementation.

Fiori accepts its own gateway credentials, and can be integrated with IDM/LDAP/CUA.

 

While the centralized user authentication set up is worked upon, is there any alternative to import the entire portal UME to the gateway so that it accepts the same credentials that of Portal (including passwords)?

 

If yes, how do we go about doing this?

Could any of you please enlighten me on this possibility.

 

 

Counting on the experts here to suggest me an alternative

/deep/ combinator is deprecated warnings on chrome.After unable to use the portal in google chrome.

Dear experts,

 

We are accessing the portal in google chrome.It's unfortunately stopped the working and after it Is showing following warning in google chrome console.we are not getting any log trace for the same.

 

/deep/ combinator is deprecated. See

https://www.chromestatus.com/features/6750456638341120 for more details.

 

 

The above error we checking in net we are not able to get any solution.

find the below for reference.

We are unable fix this error.Please suggest how to resolve this error. Because the end users are facing this error and are unable to use the portal in google chrome.

Part 1.  Installation of NWDS 7.3 and Java SDK


  1. Download NWDS
    1. At this time the latest NWDS is version 7.3 SP16 PAT0005
    2. Use this link to obtain the latest version:

    4. Note: it’s ok to use NWDS 7.3 against your 7.4 Portal
  2. Download Java SDK
    1. You can download SAP’s Java Version for use with NWDS or you can use the JDK from SUN. But only one of the following versions should be used.
      1. From SAP: “SAP JVM 6”
        1. https://nwds.sap.com/swdc/downloads/updates/netweaver/nwds/nw/731/doc/files/sapjvm6.msi
        2. From SUN: “Java SE Development Kit 6u45”
          1. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/java-archive-downloads-javase6-419409.html#jdk-6u45-oth-JPR
  3. Now you have the needed downloads, do the following:
    1. Install your chosen Java version (Note: I used the SUN version)
    2. Reboot
    3. Extract the NWDS zip file to a folder
      1. Execute SapNetweaverDeveloperStudio.exe
      2. During this first run of the NWDS, it will ask you to point to the Java version you previously installed.
      3. Note: if you get an error related to memory (HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError) when executing the developers studio exe, modify SapNetweaverDeveloperStudio.ini and change Xmx value to something smaller (example:  Xmx256m).

Part 2.  Making Changes to the Portal Logon Page in NW Portal 7.4


  1. Obtain the following files from your portal (ask your basis person to provide)

 

    1. "tc~sec~ume~logon~ui.war"
    2. "tc~sec~ume~logon~logic_api.jar"

 

  1. Open your NW Developer Studio

 

    1. Import the WAR File: "tc~sec~ume~logon~ui.war"

  1. Copy the “tc~sec~ume~logon~logic_api.jar” file to the WebContent\WEB-INF\lib folder of the WAR project in NWDS.

This Jar file has also to be added in the build path of WAR file.  Right Click the WAR project and select Build Path --> Configure Build Path.  Click on the Libraries tab and then Click on “Add External Jars” and select the JAR file “tc~sec~ume~logon~logic_api.jar” from local system and “Add” to get the following screen:

Select OK to close

 

  1. Note:  At this point, I would assume all the errors are gone.  However, there will be errors in your project.  I am left with 206 errors:

I was concerned with the large number of errors so I decided to confirm with SAP and was assured this is normal behavior and once the project has been deployed all the errors will resolve. SAP response included below:

  1. At this point, we are ready to test a change to the logon page.  I will test changing the main logon image first.  When our users logon in the morning, I want them to get fired up.  So, I’m going to replace the boring SAP image with the image of a fired up JJ Watt (the Beast).

 

  1. Copy a new logon page image: "a_jjwatt.jpg" to WebContent\layout

  1. After any changes have been made, we need to be sure that WAR project is updated in the EAR project so the latest changes are picked up. For this Right Click on WAR project and select Java EE Tools -->Update EAR Libraries.

 

  1. Configuring Deployment Descriptors

 

  1. Note: this only needs to be done once (not each time you make changes)
  2. We need to configure 2 deployment descriptors of the EAR application as below:

  1. In the EAR project, view the General tab of the file <project_name>/EARContent/META-INF/application-j2ee-engine.xml.

 

  1. Enter a provider name for your application. This is usually domain name of the client. The provider name defines your namespace where your applications reside on the AS Java. If you enter “example.com”, the application deploys to the following path: <ASJava_Installation>/j2ee/cluster/apps/example.com/<project_name>

 

For this example, I will use:  jjwattLogon.com

 

  1. Next we need to add reference to the standard application com.sap.security.core.logon

 

Choose References and choose + with the quick info text Add element

 

  1. Choose Create new and enter the required data

 

Result from steps above:

After saving the changes, the following XML is generated:

  1. In the EAR, edit the file <project_name>/EARContent/META-INF/application.xml, and define the URL alias and for your custom logon UI.  Double click on application.xml and go to Modules tab. Select the WAR file and enter the “Context Root” field for example: jjwattLogon.com

  1. Creating the deployable EAR file

 

    1. Next we need to create a deployable EAR file. For this right Click on EAR project and select Export -->SAP EAR file

  1. To deploy the ear file, Right click on the EAR file and select Run As --> Run on server.  Enter the credentials of the server and file will get deployed on the server with a success message.  You might get an Error screen in NWDS after deployment as below however you can ignore it.

Select next, and then enter the Instance:

Select Next and Finish and you will be prompted to enter your server credentials:

After the publish, you should get a successful message:

  1. Configuring UME properties in NWA

 

  1. We need to let the portal know we want it to use our new logon project
  2. Navigate to the following URL to modify UME properties through NetWeaver Administrator
    1. http://<host>:<port>/nwa/auth
    2. Change the property Alias of the application for customizing login pages (ume.logon.application.ui_resources_alias) to custom application from “/logon_ui_resources” “/jjwattLogon.com” which we mentioned previously in the Context root of application.xml
  1. Change the property Path or URL to the branding image (ume.logon.branding_image) from “layout/branding-image.jpg” to “layout/a_jjwatt.jpg”
  • v. That’s it. Launch your logon page and you should see your new image:

The process for updating the portal logon page is considerably different than in past portal versions.  There are quite a few good references on SDN regarding the new process.  Since I encountered some slight different issues than what was documented, I thought I’d document the whole process:  Setting up the NWDS environment and making changes to the logon screen.

ESS -- Purchase Requisitions implementation

Horizontal scrollbar in the 3 level hover Top level Navigation

Options in STRUSTSSO2 are disabled

Hi,

 

We upgraded our SRM system from 4.0 to 7.03.

After upgrade we could see that the options like change,delete,export and import certificates in STRUSTSSO2 are disabled.

It shows the portal certs which we uploaded earlier but we can't download the backend system because the icons are disabled.
Client is already open.User has full SAP_ALL & SAP_NEW.

UWL Substitution Rules --> Central maintenance possibility needed

Hello folks,

 

System Info:

 

ERP Backend: NW AS 7.03 ABAP Stack 731 Level 13, ECC 606 (EHP 6) with SAP_HR 604 Level 81 and EA_HR 607 (HR-Renewal 1) Level 32

SAP EP: NW AS 7.02 JAVA Stack 702 Level 17

 

Background:

 

We are using the Universal Worklist as frontend means in our Enterprise Portal to visualize and manage workitems from our workflows. None of the alternatives is feasible for us, i.e. SBWP is too powerful and too frumpy, POWL is the Antichrist and we can't use anything UI5-related (yet) because we live in the stone age. So, UWL it is.

 

Problem:

 

Our end users are crying for a means of substitution, however they refuse to create these substitution rules themselves because the usability of the scenario is horrible (I can't even argue with that). So far I only managed to increase user acceptance in a minimal way by isolating the substitution iview from the UWL iView (so people don't have to click on the "flyspeck", as it is called by us, anymore) and applied some portal patches that caused the error/warning/info messages from the substitution component to be slightly less cryptic (they still are cryptic nevertheless).

 

My colleagues in our special department urge me to just use the ERP substitution logic for that, i.e. Table HRUS_D2 which is also used in the SBWP-Substitution, but I know the Portal table KMC_WF_SUBSTITUTE serves as master table within the whole UWL Substitution stuff (which would then of course not be touched, i.e. not be in sync with the backend) and I would very much like to avoid the horror stories I've read so far on the forums.

 

We do not use NWDS/NWDI, so I can't modify the WDJ Sources.

 

The only way out I see, is, writing some kind of script/service/application, and couple it to a webservice to "somehow" manipulate both, the portal and the ERP table and paint a nice big and bubbly UI for it.

 

How does this sound to you? Does anybody have experience with such desperate measures? I'm all ears for any alternatives, too.

I am looking for a standard document on  uwl configuration in sap portal 7.4 . But I have not found much information except few blogs with XML coding . But SAP in general do not support customization. Hence I like to see any standard document I could go through with all features working well which includes managing substitutions , approving ,rejecting etc..

 

Could anyone prepared such document can you please send me the like to see

Problem in loading an iview in sap portal?

Dear Portal Experts,

                                In my there are two portals sandbox and development iviews are not loading completely in development server portal. Please refer the below attached screen shots for your reference.

 

 

Note : 1.The first screen shots the iview is loading properly in sandbox.

          2.But coming to development server the iview is not loading completely as in it is being loaded in sandbox.

 

 

 

Please help me out.

Slow loading context menu

I'm new to BW and the portal.  I've been tasked to see if I can figure out why the context menu (when I right click a cell) takes a while to load for some queries and for others it pops up right away.  In some cases it's taking up to 5 minutes.  Can anyone explain or point me to some documentation on what is happening on the back end when a user right clicks a cell?

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Error while importing PAR file from local system.

Hi Experts,

 

While importing PAR file into my NWDS, I am encountered by some strange error.

 

Please refer below screenshot for your reference.

After clicking on "OK" button of the above error popup, another popup emerge with different error, please find below the screenshot for this error.
